Project goal: Piloting practical application of legally defined mechanisms for increasing citizens’ participation in self-governance and addressing specific community problems.

Coverage area: Small villages in Adjara and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions with no or limited prior experience of implementing municipal projects.

Target group: over 2100 community members of 2 villages in Shuakhevi municipality (Tsivadzeebi and Zedakana) da 2 villages of Akhatsikhe municipality (Tskruti and Zikilia).

Project activities:

  1. Identification and selection of the most effective mechanisms for civic participation;
  2. Implementation of selected strategy with the engagement of local self-governance or independent community initiatives;
  3. Analysis of the process and preparation of recommendations for all relevant actors, including identification of positive and negative experiences.
